Biggar Theatre Workshop promotes a varied range of theatrical activities within Biggar and the surrounding district. It provides a highly appreciated and successful environment for local people of all ages to meet and enjoy themselves in a creative and pleasant atmosphere. The theatre appeals to a large part of the community with over a hundred active participants; the majority being youngsters for whom we provide a worthwhile, exciting and supporting centre for them to develop their own special talents.
Biggar Corn Exchange is a registered charity and relies on members subscriptions and donations to survive.

Volunteer
Biggar Corn Exchange relies on the drive, commitment and enthusiasm of a team of volunteers in helping to run and develop the Corn Exchange as a multi purpose community venue. Biggar Corn Exchange is home to Biggar Theatre Workshop and there are numerous volunteer opportunities in both the theatrical side and running of the building itself including:-

Set Construction
Technical ( sound & light)
Backstage & set crew
Education in leading workshops
- Costumes, creating & fitting

How much time do I need to commit to ?
It is entirely up to you and how much time you feel you could commit. It could as as little as an hour or two a month or more regular hours if you prefer. We appreciate any time you feel you could spare.
Will I receive any training ?
Yes! We will provide full support and training where appropriate.

Join Theatre Workshop
The Biggar Theatre Workshop was founded in 1971 and since then has become one of the main sources of arts facilities in the district, allowing the people of Biggar and the surrounding areas the opportunity to participate in live theatre as well as creating a performance and arts venue for local and travelling theatre groups.
We are always on the look out for new actors and singers, or if you are more interested in producing, directing or any of the back stage roles, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
