The Corn Exchange is home to Biggar Little Cinema which was founded in February 2011. It is run as a community cinema on a non-profit basis by members of the Rotary Club of Biggar.
The aim of Biggar Little Cinema is to provide the opportunity for members of an isolated rural community to enjoy good films in a cinema environment, at as low a cost as practicable, without having to make a round trip of 60 miles or more to the commercial cinema.
All the surplus from the screenings is disbursed as charitable donations to local organisations and Rotary projects.
Membership is open to anybody over the age of 18 years. As a member, you can request to receive news updates by email.
The films are projected using the latest high-resolution digital equipment onto a full size cinema and the sound is via high definition loudspeakers in Dolby stereo.
